Condition before treatment: The paper support is brittle, and has been rolled and crushed, resulting in horizontal breaks and occasional losses. The breaks have been mended, front and back, with clear, pressure sensitive tape that has stained the paper.

Treatment: Tape carriers removed using heat and various organic solvents. Adhesive residue softened with solvent and reduced with a blunt scalpel. Adhesive stains reduced with organic solvents on the suction table. Breaks/tears mended using Japanese paper and methylcellulose adhesive. Humidified and backed with Japanese paper and wheat starch paste.
